Electro Air

Your trusted partner in aviation and aerospace maintenance.

We are home to ElectroAir's most highly recommended installer in the Eastern United States!

  • 2-3 day installation on all Single EIS
  • 3-5 day installation on all Dual EIS
  • 10-12 day installation on Twin Engine aircraft
  • We have installed more systems than any other shop in the US

Based on install at engine overhaul with engine TBO of 1800hrs

  • 4 cylinder Magneto $900/500 hour inspection = $1.80/hour/mag

  • 6 cylinder Magneto $1,200/500 hour inspection = $2.40/hour/mag

  • Bendix single drive/dual mag $2700-3500/500 hour inspection = $5.40-7.00/hour

  • Labor per 100hr inspection to check timing $115x1hr= 1.72/hr,

  • $115x2hrs/500hr inspection for removal, install, retime to engine

  • Fuel savings up to 2 gph x $6.50/gal=$13.00/hr
Estimated savings over life of engine
$24.00/hr x 1800TBO = $43,200 for single mag!

Backup Battery Condition Panel

EA-26000

The EA-26000 is a Backup Battery Control Panel, when used with the TCW Technologies IBBS series of backup battery systems, creates a system that is approved power supply backup when installing dual Electroair electronic ignition systems.

How It Works

The ElectroAir Electronic Ignition Kit is a fully STC'd kit for most Lycoming and Continental engines. Replacing one magneto with the EIS kit will typically improve fuel economy on average by 10-15% (some customers have reported higher). Additionally, there will be an improvement in hot starts, increase in horsepower, smoother engine operation, noticeable throttle response (especially on last minute go arounds) and improved high altitude performance. ElectroAir's EIS is the only STC'd electronic ignition system on the market that adjusts spark timing automatically as you change power settings and altitude to maintain the optimum performance and fuel efficiency out of your engine without any damage or significant weight change. This is completed by way of our MAP Sensor - timing is adjusted based on manifold pressure and altitude. Most parts on the EIS system are not life limited but the MTH is recommended to be changed at overhaul of the engine (its is a rotating part with bearings) and spark plug wires on condition. This kit can be used on either 12V or 24V systems.

BENEFITS: This system is best paired up with a engine monitor system to get the maximum fuel economy and performance from your engine by utilizing the "lean assist" function. Magnetos replacement cost has increased significantly since covid running up to $1000 for smaller 4 cylinder engines up to $1800 for larger 6 cylinder engines or more every 500hrs when following the manufacture recommended inspection procedures not counting labor to remove, ship, & install them. This waste spark system means cleaner plugs that last a lot longer so no 50hr spark plug cleaning or premature replacement. Being a fixed component, you set it and forget it so no repetitive mag timing checks or adjustments are needed like traditional magneto points or cam when wear starts setting in. Running cleaner means the engine performs better so the engine can run longer without issues. Some customers have reported running past TBO some going up to 3000hrs TSOH when flying more than 100hrs a year along with oil analysis monitoring. Combined with improved fuel economy, this pays for itself!

Kit includes: all the required parts to replace the magneto (typically, the right hand mag in most 4cyl Lycoming engines). 2 circuit breakers are required for this system. A new switch panel is recommended but not required. You can choose between fine wire spark plugs or massive electrode spark plugs. Fine wire plugs are more expensive but are less prone to fouling and perform a little better due to a more intense spark path.
